The number of homes receiving planning permission has risen up to 9% from January – March 2017, according to a report.
Increasing 3% from 2016, it’s reported that up to 123,300 applications were submitted to the district level planning authorities, 89,500 securing granted permission.
The first quarter of 2016 saw 83% of district level planning authorities deciding major planning applications within 13 weeks, this year it ascended to 87%.
The level of residential homes granted permission is up 17% year on year, with 12,300 applications being approved and 1,700 of them being major developments. Although we’re witnessing a rise in granted residential permission, commercial development is down by 2% to 2,600.
What does this mean for you?
Whilst this news doesn’t automatically guarantee you permission, it’s good to know that the percentage of being accepted is at an all time high, possibly putting your mind at ease during the long weeks of waiting for a response.
